"Real" surround still sucks compared to a good set of headphones. Two high quality drivers is much better than several low quality ones.

Zalman clip on mics are crap. Don't know why anyone suggests them on this site.

The difference is Sennheiser isnt decent. They are GOOD. Germans dont mess around with making crap lol...

Sennheiser is known for quality in both sound and durability and has EXCELLENT customer service. I had a pair of HD280 pros for several years that worked perfectly even though I treated them roughly and have some 515s atm that are good too. I bought a SS Sibera v2 and after 5 months the left ear is out with extreme care in their use. I feel like I bought some cheap $10 headphones with the steelseries. Sennheiser sent me a pair of 515s free when the headband cracked without making me send them in. I have a ticket with Steelseries to replace mine atm but I think the new pair will break soon enough.

Also the siberia v2 are extremely uncomfortable and cause fatigue and has a cheap cord that tangles. Since I put my 515 back on I notice how comfortable and light and better quality they are and they are half the price (dont have mic though). In fact the 515s sound so much better I cant stand pandora anymore since it sounds like crap, the Siberias crap quality made Pandora acceptable.

Basically Sennheiser is the opposite of Razer.

Im confused are you overwhelmed by the many devices you have connected to you? I only have headphones and a mic, but since I have two hands I dont have problems removing them simultaneously. Maybe more chuck e cheese games to build up that motor control so you can do it.

I'll stick with my HD280 pros, thanks.

If I was going to buy "gamer" headphones though, I'd probably get Sennheisers.

I wouldn't, and I know a bit about them. Look, I'm speaking for myself here, but I'm not about to buy a stupid clip on mic so I can get a pair of expensive stereo headphones. I bought a G930, which is 7.1 sound (2 drivers), wireless, and has a mic built in. Playing BF3 or any other shooter, I can tell which direction even footsteps are coming from, with very real accuracy. Sure the sound is through USB, but we're talking gaming here, not freaking mixing audio for a professional band. Best part about it? I can talk on TeamSpeak anywhere in my house. Before the G930, I had Turtle Beach HPA2's which have multiple drivers in each cup. They were phenomenal.

Sennheiser makes high and low quality headphones, just like most companies. I'm not comparing them to Razer or Steelseries crap. I was asking why these headsets should be chosen over a decent (as in, not "gaming") pair of headphones plus a clip on mic. With that price they're obviously not aimed at the audio enthusiast market, but even their high end headsets seem greatly overpriced for what you get (almost $40 extra for the mic on the PC360, compared to the HD555).

I'm obviously not the intended audience for these kinds of products, as I'll soon be owning a set of $400 cans, but I don't really understand this product.

"Phenomenal" is relative.

I clip mine onto the headphones wire because it is sleeved and thus thick enough. Works great.

I have had a PC350 for years now and they always have been great. Decent sound and excellent mic quality.

yeah, when i first got my SENN HD 558 i was dissapointed, the sound isn't any better than my G930, the VELOUR PAD is somewhat itchy, worst is it's clamping on my head so tight and giving me a headache.

after a couple of months everything seems to get better, the sound has improved, the pad isn't itchy anymore, and it's not clamping tight anymore. feels like i'm not wearing a headphone at all, it's so light and very comfortable.

Exactly. Just attach it to the cord. Even still, like its really hard to take .5 seconds to remove a mic from your shirt.
