Das Keyboard owners - keycaps?

Hi all,

Just got my new Das Keyboard S Pro Silent (with Cherry browns, DASK3PROMS1SI-CO) from J&R, and was surprised that keycaps look pad-printed, rather than advertised "laser etched". I can feel the paint raised above the surface.

Am I missing something or is that indeed the case?

Thanks!

I refer you to Das' own blog on the matter:

It's etched, then filled with filler. The filler of course gets worn away as you type (and and it'll be pretty quick if you're a very heavy typist/gamer).

However, no it's not pad printed and trust me, if it were, it'd prolly smudge all over the place post-haste >_>; (For example, Razer Blackwidows)

Hey, AprilS copied my "All About Keys Wiki"!

Hah, I keed.

I gave her permission earlier.

But don't expect lasered to last forever and wash your hands every so often.

Ducky after 3 weeks.
