Which 27" Korean Monitor?

Hi,

I was searching for a decent budget 27" monitor when I stumbled across this whole world of Korean IPS monitors. I read around and it all seems like a lottery.

Anyway, I need one for general use (don't PC game much at all) and PS3 use. So which one of these monitors am I looking for? There's so many of them and I'm losing track of what's what. I've gathered there are two 'brands', Catleap and Shimian. I was just looking at the Catleap ones and found these multi-input ones:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-YAMAKASI-CATLEAP-Q270-MULTI-27-LED-2560X1440-S-IPS-Stereo-HDMI-DVI-Monitor-/140756356314?pt=UK_Computing_ComputerComponents_Monitors&hash=item20c5bb8cda#ht_39836wt_1159

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-YAMAKASI-CATLEAP-Q270-MULTI-27-LED-2560X1440-S-IPS-Stereo-Gaming-Monitor-/140717987281?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item20c37215d1#ht_39858wt_1159

The second one is cheaper but seems exactly the same as first one. So what gives?

Oh and I'm in UK.

Thanks!

After the dollars (maybe as you say, not US).
So, I assume eBay converted.

The first just straight out says £279.90.

They are the same then? Okay, I know which I'll be choosing out the two.

Also, another question, is it worth opting for the 'Perfect Pixel' version?

And do you suggest this Korean model is the right one for my needs? Or is there another one, maybe one of the Shimians that offer HDMI for cheaper?

Thanks.

there are more than just two brands

this website lists most of them, and describes the features (inputs mostly) of the differernt models. It is very helpful when picking one.

Monitors

I personally recommend the CrossOver. It is gorgeous, much better looking than the apple cinema display imo

Thanks for that link! It's really helpful for the people who have just stumbled upon this 'scene' by accident. smile.gif

The CrossOver does look nice but is approx. £130 more than a Catleap and £150 more than the ShiMian. All multi-input version.

So, I've narrowed it down to the Catleap Q270 and Q270-IPSMS and those two don't look much more 'inferior' than the CrossOver. The price difference doesn't seem worth it because all I need is the HDMI input, don't need any of that 90 degrees turn-thing.. I like the Catleap look so leaning on that one.

May pick one up very soon after reading around some more. Thanks for the help!

You can get perfect pixel Qnix monitors from one of the best eBay sellers 'BigClothCraft' which uses the same panel and is reportedly good quality for <£220. Those are found here:
