I'm using 7/16" tubing. But u could probs get away with 1/2" in this case. What sort of gear do u have in mind for ur build?

I'm going to use the EX120, EX240 radiators with the EK-FC7970 and Raystorm CPU block. I'm also going to get the MCP35X pump. The only part I'm unsure of is the reservoir, I'm debating whether to get one of the cylindrical ones to mount outside my case or the XSPC dual-bay one.

I was looking for a D5, but I heard several people suggest the MPC35X over it in term of acoustic performance. I'm fairly sensitive to sound, so I'm going to be bothered by whatever I get anyway lol

How loud is your setup? I'd imagine it is pretty quiet (at least, to someone like me who has only ever used air cooling).

The D5 has a vario version which lets you to change speeds (from 1 to 5, not sure on which most people settle on) and it is cheaper than the 35x.

Edit:
regarding to my plans of 200mm rad: (asked PPCS on FB)

Antec uses their Fatboy fan in the top, Im fairly sure the mountpoints are different from all the other fans of that size in the market so Im sure it wont fit without some modification, but its conjecture. For us to pull all the parts out and test you need to pay for this service here first: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=61&products_id=30078

after a little of research myself I've discovered they are right, so i'll probably go on your 240+120 setup idea/scheme but i'll still try to ask a few more retailers (maybe FrozenCPU or a few others)

btw, i need to plan to how to include the VRM block of the Maximus V Formula in the loop... (i guess 240+120 should suffice for cpu+gpu+vrm no?)

yeh my setup cools my 3930k @4.4ghz and my 7970 @1100/6400 well, so theres headroom for another block.

I have the d5 vario. atm i have it on setting 4. I can hear it humming but it isnt loud. if i turned it down to 2-3 it would be alot less noisy, probly unnoticeable, at the sacrifice of 1 or 2 degrees cooling.

On a side note ive just realised i have my inlet/outlet on my raystorm back to front dammit. its cooling ok for the time being. I will be getting a drain valve soon so when i get that i will drain the system install that and change the loop so my raystorm is in proper config.

now with these pics and what you said it does look secure.
i am still considering if to go no the phobya rad or not, and if yes which fan is also a difficult decision...
the only water-cooled 1100's that i have found are these:
1 (3 120 rads)
2 (a 360 rad)
3 (similar idea to yours but taking the pegs down)
unfortunately i couldn't find the log where someone piled down the pegs and placed the bolts. (i think it is another thread by the one who is in the 3rd link)

Thats me in the 3rd one. And yeah i cut down/filed the fan clips and got a template of my rad to drill some holes to put the screws to hold my rad and fans in. Might flip the rad the other way round at some point to neaten it up though (will get some angles connectors cause it's quite a tight turn. But it is running fine and i also added a 120 rad to the back of the case because i used a slim rad on the hdd cages but had to cut the lip off the edge of the window in the case.

And d3vour3r that looks really good. Like the water block you got on your cpu as well.

thanks for the reply! honestly i'm considering to switch to the 810 (that pun) SE if my retailer would get it. if not i'll possibly stick to the 1100 but it would be complicated since i plan to run a GPU and the MB too.\
(do you have any ideas of modding the top to hold a 180/200 rad?)

Also, love this: bulletv1's 1100 (Click to show)

i was actually considering upgrading my cooling by modding the case to fit a 360 rad up top. I was thinking of using a koolance radiator shroud, and with that extra space plus the space to top of the mobo, theres around 85mm there which is enough for a xspc ex360 and some fans. and by my measurements the shroud will fit without having to move the on off switch. only thing is i will have to get rid of my optical drive, but i was going to get a fan controller and put that in the top bay and get an enclosure for my bluray drive. if i do this ill put up pics in this thread.

If you were gonna mount a rad in the top i would go with d3vour3rs idea as you will need to mod the case to fit a different 200m fan as the big boy 200 fan has mounting holes different place to other 200mm fans (found out when trying to change it). So you might as well mod and go for a 360 or 240. if you get a 360 fan in the top i would love to see it. If you even get a 240 up there and that with the 240 in the front i would have thought that would be enough radage to cool a full loop if its not thrashed all the time.

And the pump isn't particularly loud. The GPU fan makes more noise. But i have bought a soggy sandwich sound damper for the pump to sit on. But won't change it yet as will need to change some of the tubing.
