Maybe a picture of your situation? If it's convenient. Also, what are your temps like?

What is your desk made of? That is a hell of a heat transfer to be able to feel a temperature difference from exhausted air.

Are you concerned it is going to warp your desk?

considering i already have my stereo/turntable on the desk along with 3 monitors, i say yes to that thats why i was thinking of just ordering a bench instead of planting a case on my desk, benches are less metal, = less weight

Unless you have a carpet floor and nothing you can put under your case, you don't need to put your case on the desk.

i have less than 1/4 of a foot of space between the top of the desk and top of my 500r, and about 3 inches behind the case for hot exhaust, the back of the desk has a physical back wall on it, its not open, thus hot air gets trapped easily, as it cant rise to anywhere, which leads to me sweating while im playing games. which in turn is uncomfortable on a leather office chair.
