Help with TV Tuner and 2 monitors??

Thread Starter
Hi there, I need some help on connecting a TV Tuner. How would I get it that it would display the TV tuner on one monitor and I can do my general computing on the other monitor?? The resolutions are different too with the monitors. One is 1920x1080 and the other is 1440x900. I would really love to watch TV and plays games at the same time ahaha. Thanks!!! smile.gif

Just drag whatever application you using to watch TV on to your secondary monitor and maximize it, for me Windows Media Center plays well with my tuner card so I use that but whatever application you get with the tuner should do the same.

You can have one continuous (extended) desktop. With different size/resolution monitors It won't all line up exactly across the two but that doesn't matter if you want one thing (a game) on one and something else (TV) on the other. Anything in a window on the desktop you can drag to the second monitor and it'll stay there while you game on the first (when I say it will stay there what I mean is it should stay there, with SLi some games occasionally turn the second monitor black, I can normally bring it back though by Alt-Tabbing out of and back into them).

What kind of TV tuner are you going to use? Internal or external?
The internal one will almost certainly have windowed software that you can just drag to any monitor in Extended setup scenario, just like user Darrren9 pointed out. smile.gif Resolution is not a problem.

While the external one.. this kind of tuner typically has two VGA ports (input+output). Just hook the output to the second monitor and you'll be able to switch between TV and PC source just fine.
