hose routing, wondering why you guys..

why is it that i see so many people either with one or two blocks on the graphics card route the hose directly to the cpu?
shouldn't you go graphics - rad - cpu - rad?
just seems logical that you would want the coolest you could get going to each item.
further more people that have two graphics cards tend to take hot going out of one and put it into the other to cool it.. unless i'm looking at it wrong.

Since it takes a decent amount of time for water to heat up, loop order really doesn't matter much in most situations. Putting a radiator between components being cooled will likely only give you 1-2C better temps while using a lot more tubing.

Water has such a high heat capacity that it doesn't really matter. Water that just went through 2 blocks won't even be 5 degrees warmer than when it leaves the radiator.

I think multiple people here have conducted various experiements and came to the conclusion that the water AFTER the rads was a degree or so hotter then when it goes in.

Think about how little water is really in a PC - Its like putting a pot of water on a stove-top and expecting the water level to be cold and the bottom be hot.. thumb.gif

Interesting. The idea that the water leaving the radiator is hotter makes no sense to me. thinking.gif
Either way, loop order doesn't change temperatures more than 2-3C in most cases.

I'm interested in seeing a test that shows that strange phenomenon. I've always seen colder water coming out of the radiator outlet.

As others have mentioned, we generally recommend a route that is cleaner and more efficient as it does not make a big difference when it comes to PC cooling. If it was a different heat system, then your logic would make sense.
