Hey man really appreciate the suggestions. All the parts for my parents build aren't purchased yet so everything is being reconsidered right now.
You see, the thing I have with AMDs is that my last laptop was a hp 360 ( i know its a huge rip off to begin with) which burned the motherboard after 4 years. I was told my multiple computer guys that the amds are HORRIBLE stuff and that even the company do not expect good performance from them.

So now I feel very sketchy about anything AMD. I mean there's a Quad core (turian i think) destop set on sale at Stapes right now for $499. Imagine the quality of those cores.

I will do some further investigation into amd cores.

Appreciate the replies. Yours are nicer than some on here haha

Regarding the GPUs, after doing some research, I am definitely a nVidia enthusiast. So the next upgrade card I can get would cost me over $300. I found the 550 ti on sale on Amazon. And they are the special Asus DC Top edition! for $135 each. So I got 3 of them (2 for me and 1 for my parents).
For 250$ you can get an HD 7850 which will be faster than those 2 550 ti and you wont suffer from SLI problems.
I did the power supply checkers on newegg and thermaltake site, I know 550W would be minimum and 650w was recommended. Since I plan to overclock a bit, I believe I would need around 700-750W to be safe. Plus, the GS 800 is not only about bells and whistles, it is a quiet psu. (got that on Amazon for $114). A quality 750W cost about $100, so why not make that jump right.
You dont wanna make that jump except if you are really sure that you are gonna add more gfx cards in the future, PSU operate most efficiently when you pull 90% of their power, so when you overshoot your PSU your electricity bill will be unnecessary higher.
Now for the CPU, I want hyper threading, because I do a lot of multitasking--being a college student, I have to write a lot of essays, while I get distracted like crazy with websites, youtube, facebook, and maybe some music. However I will be getting the i5 2500k for my parents. It is a great cpu.
Multitasking for a human is not the same as multitasking for a computer, with the weakest last gen CPU you could do all those things you mentioned at the same speed as with an i7, none of those things are CPU intensive task, as long as you have enough RAM (4GB would even be fine), everything run well. Imo you should only go i7 if you are either gonna do video editing/running a home server/play BF3 maxed out. In all other cases you would do much better with an i5. And even i3 would actually be fine for most games.

for 1400 bucks you bought a rig that can get whooped by most 800-900 dollar builds easily. Do yourself a favor and return everything you bought, and use one of our suggestions. for that cash you can get a rig that will play any game max settings. but instead you got a rig that cant max farmville.

llano is a great cpu. dont let someone tell you "OH AMD IS HORRIBLE, INTEL WILL BEAT IT ALL DAY" well that is mostly true, but llano is especially good in an htpc. the onboard graphics are great, they are much better than an i3s graphics, and the cpu isnt very far behind an i3.

Dude what are you talking about. 550 sli could max any game right now and those that are coming out at max settings.

i7, because yes I do play most graphic intensive games.
Nvidia because I can go 3D in the future.

Full-tower case so I can expand liquid cooling and maybe, a slight chance, a extra graphics card making 3 way SLI

and the 800W...well I don't know. I mean most youtube vids advised to use the newegg and thermaltake PSU calculators....I got 200W extra than I need. But that'll go a long way when I replace it with 600s graphic cards. Which apparently takes up like 300W?
--PLUS, EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THERE ARE PEOPLE (MOST EXPERTS ON YOUTUBE) USING 800W+ FOR 2600K CPU WITH 600S GRAPHICS?
