My computer shutdown abruptly while working & restart automatically.... can anybody tell me, what could be the possible problem

A problem with your PSU? A short circuit of some kind?

Yes, Power Supply Unit. Could be, not saying it definitley is.

Make sure all plugs are securely attached inside your PC.
Has it only done this once?

it happens many times while working... one thing i forgot.. few weeks ago i've replaced my PSU & from that time i've got this problem.

That makes me think it's definitley your PSU. It's probably not powerful enough for your system.

wow, i have been having the same problem, a few weeks ago i replaced my psu because it would just turn off completely with no warning, i bought a new one (in sig) and it has been fine but today it happened twice :S if you find a solution please let me know and i will do the same.

Same thing happened to me. my old PSU also turbed off without warning, so i got the new one. now i'm gonna replace it again 'coz it is warranty & i'll let you the result of it SOON smile.gif
