[Youtube] Battlefield 3 Premium Edition Announcement (new Armored Kill and Aftermath footage) - Page 4

I got Premium from GreenManGaming for £25 with something like a 25% off discount. Now THAT was worth the money. £39? Pfft.

But yeah I can see why both early premium adopters and pre-order buyers would be mighty pissed off at this since they paid full whack less than a month ago.

Basically 24 new maps, a poop load of weapons/vehicles for the same price as it released for.
Not bad for the newcomers.

If it's £39 for Premium and the game in the UK that's slightly annoying, to be honest. They've been charging £39.99 for just the game.

LoL.

Seriously. That was too good. Pay to win. - You know nothing of what premium, apparently encompasses.

I hate EA and how DICE has changed the BF universe. One thing I can't complain about is the delivery of content that is not too shabby.

Stop feeding the beast, indeed.

But on the other hand, I have been playing BF3 LE since last October, then just opted in April for Premium. So it's only $30 swing for several more months of play.

But if you have premium, you don't have to pay any more money ... I don't know what you're talking about.

Oh I get it now, I got charged full price for BF3 ($60), then full price for Premium ($50), which at the time of purchase was only 1 DLC + various perks, and now in Sept people can get the whole lot for $69.99..

I could see the depreciation if it was content was old, but we paid more for stuff that's not even released, now that's kinda crappy.

They should reclassify it, and give the original premium people a bone or something... Give me a hat for early adopting.

I understand what everyone is saying about the price of things dropping but everyone seems to be looking at this just from the standpoint of the main game in this bundle. Sure BF3 has been out since October, but Premium has only been out for 2 months, that's barely any time at all. To essentially give it to people for $10 now is definitely screwing the loyal people who bought it early. ....and that's coming from a non premium member. If Apple released an iPhone for $199.99 and then, 2 months later, dropped the price down to $29.99, you guys would be all over them. Same thing if Activision did it with COD.

The main problem I have with this is that they aren't lowering the price of JUST Premium, meaning all the people (like me) that supported them last October by buying the game but haven't bought premium are getting shafted. I'd be better off to buy the $70 copy with both and then just sell the game and keep Premium.

I think everyone has a point with the "games go down in price over time" argument, but BF3 hasn't gone down in price. I wouldn't be upset if BF3 dropped to $39.99 or something because I bought it 10 months ago. But Premium was released in June (let's not forget that more than half of the DLC included in Premium hasn't even been released yet!!!!) and to discount it down THAT much for people who haven't even done anything to support them so far is definitely a crappy thing to do in my book and honestly, there's nothing anyone is going to say to change my mind.

Exactly. I don't agree with it either, but either way, what's done is done.

I do think that people who bought Premium should have got the head start pack (correct me if we already did?) too - why should newcomers to the game who buy this edition be any different. Not that it matters to me, as I've already unlocked everything this pack has to offer, but still there must be a principle involved.

Thank you. that is the exact point I'm trying to make.

Only on OCN can people make a big deal out of a product being discounted.

I understand having buyer's remorse and all, but this happens with so many things. I can't even count how many times I've bought something and the next week, it was lower in price. I really don't understand how EA is the bad guy here.

That's how I see it.
Also, like moocowman said: I think we all know all this stuff goes on sale at some point. I've gotten every penny's worth out of BF3 so I'm fine with this--still enjoy the game. A night map in AK, too? bigeyedsmiley.png

I just pooped myself a little.
