But on the other hand, I have been playing BF3 LE since last October, then just opted in April for Premium. So it's only $30 swing for several more months of play.

I'm sympathetic, but unless it's a killer app, I want for game of the year edition these days.

They're STILL selling BF3 at £39.99 on Origin, while the Premium edition, for £39.99, is up for preorder.

So, anyone who bought the game and Premium since June is getting seriously ripped off. Anyone buying now is getting a great deal.

This Premium Edition is the kind of thing they need to release ON RELEASE for it to be worth while.

I mean, check out the MOH "Digital Deluxe" edition for £49.99. They're having a LAUGH with that. £50 for a bloody computer game? On PC? With no licence fees? With no physical content overheads and distribution and shipping?

Yeah, after this debacle I'm totally confident in buying EA Games on release and showing them my support.

I prefer to look at it like this:

BF3 is selling for 19.99, and Premium is 49.99

I bought Premium when it first came out, and I don't mind the price now. It really doesn't matter. The price would come down. From EA's point of view, all the people who will buy Premium have. So they make a good deal. Their stock is falling. They really need some good games, and some money. I would rather see a bit of milking than no BF4. Or any other EA game.

Dropping the price on yet to be released content is not really fair to the loyal fan base that bought it when it was first announced, no matter how you spin it.

I guess anyone who bought Skyrim/Max Payne 3 full price then bought it cheaper in the sales that came shortly after launch were "ripped off"?

I suppose anyone that ever bought something that wasnt in a sale/discounted were ripped off.

Sorry, is this a one time promotional sale? No.

Is this "hey, guys, pay £40 for early access to unreleased content!" *2 months later* "Hey guys, pay £20 for early access and unreleased content!"? Yes.

Anyone who bought Premium in June just got the wool well and truly pulled over their eyes. Premium is still £39.99, BF3 is still £39.99, but hey you can BOGOF now. Yay for new purchasers, frown.gif for early adopters.

They paid upfront for unreleased content, and now they've sold a fair few copies, they've lowered the price on that yet unreleased content. That really, really sucks. But then again you have EA blinkers on so I'd never, ever expect you to see that and not draw some comparison to Steam.

As opposed to only offering a deal for a day/week as if that's better for everyone??

Its okay to "screw" people with a 24 hour sale, but not to permanently give a better deal? LOL tbh.

Yes, welcome to retail since about 50+ years ago. Things get cheaper.

Premium cost £40. This isn't a "sale" this is a permanent reduction in price.

So, today, if you have BF3 and you paid anywhere between £25 and £40 for the game. You still have to pay £40 for Premium. Yet, if you don't have BF3 at all you can pay £40 and get both. Seems to me like the people who already have the game are getting ripped.

You really, really don't see what people's problem is? Or are you just being intentionally antagonistic?
