"Reuse" Apple Care?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if you can "reuse" Apple Care. By "reuse", I mean that the Apple Care was bought by another person and it was tried, but it gave an "invalid code". It gave an invalid code because the person who used it only remembered to try putting the code in AFTER the 1 year period.

I was wondering if I can buy his Apple Care for a lowered price and use it on my Macbook Air biggrin.gif

The Apple Care was bought last year for the Macbook and it's already out of it's box and it was tried on the Macbook.

Now the question is, will it work on the Macbook Air 2012? I know that the Macbook, Pro 13, and Air have the same exact Apple Care. I just never tried it like this before, nor have I used Apple Care in the past.
It's a computer.

Yup. As long as you're within the 1st year of your Macbook's purchase date, you should have no issues registering it.

So even if the Apple Care was bought a few years back, opened(though it didn't work), I will still be able to use it on a new macbook?

Yup! Provided the code actually hasn't been used you should have zero issues registering it! And even if you do, call up Applecare, have your serial number, AC Registration #, and the AC Serial Number (on the bottom of the AC box) on hand and they'll do it for you!

Ok, thanks! At least I found a way to reuse the unused Apple Cares of the other students in my school. thumb.gif
