GTX 560 Ti Suddenly Overheating

Thread Starter
Recently I noticed my ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II has suddenly been overheating.A couple of weeks ago I would get like 40C on idle and like 50-60 while under load but now I get like 70-80C while under load?
The GPU is completely clean with no dust and I have it in a HAF x with a ton of fans making the case cold as hell yet it still goes up to 70-80?
Ive tried re-applying thermal paste but same temps?

changed any setings? clocked it? uped the voltage latly? abient temps higher now?

Yep ive tried turning down everything but still no luck it still hops up to 70-80 degrees
post #6 of 15
Do you use MSI Afterburner too control the temps?
we talking about the temps in the same game? cant really compare them if they are from different games as not every game runs the same and taxes hardware the same

check the GPU in the PC for connectivity. have a look at the PCI-E Slot and the card itself check the 6-8pin connectors aswell.

Bet your heatspreader is about to fall off. Probably constant hot temps loosened the epoxy enough to crack the bond between the IHS and die. Take the cooler off and repaste it and see if the IHS just falls off....
