[PA] Sony's Crossbuy A Huge Step In The Right Direction - Page 4

IMHO, the Sony Vita was just a response to the PC crowd who only cares about hardware specs, and form-over-function (content) games *cough* crysis *cough*. A large amount resources to make a current-gen handheld, but totally lacking in decent software to take advantage of the horsepower. That makes me sad. frown.gif

Maybe it's because I'm almost 30, and growing up with the Apple II, Atari, & NES instilled the mindset of wanting games with content. Sure, graphics are nice and all, but not most important to me. Heck, I'll still play Mario64, and quite often, just because it's an awesome game and offers me higher entertainment value than newer games like Crysis and Metro 2033.

However, I do think the Mass Effect series is EPIC.

This is Sony. What's the catch?

Overpricing a product only works when there is huge demand or "must have" image. Like when you know people are going to be buying your stuff not because its good, but because its available for them to spend their money on.
So far its kind of just "there" and its not accessible for people who would rather just buy the latest smart phone or something.
Most importantly though, the "killer app" has been severely lacking.
Its a shame because the tech is there imo. Just not being used which is normally the case when anyone tries to push any technological boundaries.

Overpriced? You're joking right? The spex exceed anything at the time of release and it was $250.00...
show me something with that type of performance for $250.00.

You can throw $1,000,000 worth of Hardware into something, but if you dont have a good controller\software, its worth $100 !

WEll, to be quite honest the PS3 is much better than the 360. And I've always liked the Sony PS controllers. I'm getting one for my phone since it works nativewly with it.

And now. Buying a PS3 version of a PSP game (which happens) I don't see why you wouldn't get it "free" on the PSP.

If you bought a DS game on the Wii I'd expect it free on the DS too wink.gif

The vita has SOME games, but really nowhere near the amount needed to justify purchasing for most people. There just are not enough memorable titles (yet). The hardware is amazing for the price. You get everything, even a big beautiful screen. However software is where it's lacking. I'm still surprised there is no battery indicator. This is 2012, should we not be done with the days where battery display is simply a picture of a battery with green shaded in? How about even throw an option in there to check battery level?

Nope, Sony seems to think we are fine just guessing how much battery is left, lets not forget this thing doesn't last long on one charge either.

aww..stupid tired eyes. at first when i read this i saw "Sony's Crossbow" ..

anyway i love this idea, i have thought for a long time now that this should happen with a lot of things. like comic books and all that, should get digital version codes with hard copies. like they do with most blu rays now. its a great idea.

would be an epic idea for games, although my guess is would jack up the base price of games a little to compensate. thats my guess anyway
