[Review] Arctic Cooling Accelero Hybrid - Page 2

Great review. IMO I think "the mod" is a much better price/performance solution.

Solely in terms of price, it's a better value. The Hybrid comes with a 2-year warranty, looks much better, and requires no modification to implement. Most people would rather have a complete package than a DIY project (Even on OCN wink.gif). You don't need an unsightly fan or "creative" airflow arrangement to keep the PCB cool, either.

If the Hybrid were sold as purely a closed loop water system, it would be grossly overpriced. The inclusion of the PCB fan/shroud assembly, 120mm fan, and plenty of heatsinks makes it a decent value for a high-end GPU cooling solution. It's that middle ground between high-end air and a full-on water loop. Personally, I'd be happier if the MSRP were around $150, but c'est la vie.

Hopefully the Hybrid proves successful and we see other variants down the road, too.

Exactly what staryoshi said.
I have recently started looking into WCing ( Maybe get WCing components or a huge SSD for christmas ^.^) and my thought is: If im WCing m CPU, might as well do my GPU too, right? Well, I was discouraged before I heard about the Hybrid because I heard of all the custom work needed and I feel as if I'd mess that up. But the hybrid fills the gap!

Id also like a lower cost. Accelero Hybrid for 250 alone? :X! Then i've got to buy my CPU cooler too!

Great review and excellent read, thanks for posting it. I'm glad to see these coolers coming to market. Very risky venture as its the first retail product of its kind. Price is steep but expected concitering. Longer hoses are a godsend as its a major issue with simular DIY methods. For future versions led lights or led indicator for temps lind of like on the rog matrix would add addional bling. I'm set up with the mod currently and happy with it but had the mod not been around this would be on my card. Sethy did a great review of this product also with similar results as yours so that two positive reviews for this product now. I hope theysll well.

Now for the flood of competing products to drive the prices down.

Love the long water lines. Not liking the "3rd slot encroachment" and the price a bit steep. Still an awesome review! Well done! thumb.gif

NewEgg has the Hybrid on sale for $140 with promo code EMCNBHB55

That is a pretty compelling price point, as I think that finding it under $150 is a strong buy smile.gif

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186067

Also, if I get some time in the near future I'll add some overclocking data and/or push-pull results.

I want to get a few of these for a 3 way SLI setup but the encroaching concerns me. Having performed a build do you believe I could 'squeeze' 3 in there?

Bump for a great review.

Ive had the Hybrid on my GTX 580 since July. Previous to this I was using 'The mod" with a H50 and before that, and AXP plus.

The Hybrid has proved a very worthwhile upgrade, especially when folding thumb.gif

Thanks again for the review.
