Darksiders 2 stuttering?

Thread Starter
Vsync does not work so I forced it via radeon pro. Vsync then works but I then have stuttering frequenty when running around or when I move the mouse.

Using 12.6 WHQL and CFX disabled and stock 7970 speed.
Thank you.

IIRC, Darksiders 1 on PC had an issue with mouse and keyboard input being the cause of that.  If you have a 360 controller I recommend you try the game with that, and see if it will solve the problem.  Just in general, I recommend a 360 controller for that game anyways, because kb/m just does not suit it well.

I read in the steam forums (can't link since at work right now) that if you enable vsync in Darksiders II it causes the GPU to run full throttle and can cause heat issues. Plus if you make changes to vsync or resolution you have to exit the game then relaunch for changes to take effect.

Yup, i had this issue with Darksiders 1.

Switched to my 360 controller and all was good.

Besides, the game was built for the controller, it plays so much better with one. (Don't say that for many games)

I might have to dig out my 360 pad again and give it a try. Thank you.

I get stuttering too, with my 360 pad, frame rate is still reporting 67fps constantly but it looks like it's running@ 30 or less half the time

Full of issues in this game.
470 SLI I had 10 fps tops. Disabled SLI, now I get decent performance, but with vsync on, card is often jumping to full throttle and some stuttering occur.

Yeah, Vsync is causing some big issues in this game for me. It plays better with Vsync off.

Yeah i noticed the same thing, it felt like low frames, but the game was playing without lag, if that makes sense.

I thought it was applications running on my other monitor (and other video card), so I closed them, and still had this problem. That fixed my studdering issues in dota typically

I am not sure if it fixed itself or i didnt notice it after a while
