120Hz over HDMI?

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a monitor for use with my laptop. I would like it to be 120Hz capable. The only 2 outputs on my laptop are a mini-DP and HDMI 1.4a. Unfortunately, the mini-dp is through the HD3000 integrated graphics which does not support 120Hz. However, I have read that the HDMI 1.4 output through my GT540m can support 120Hz at up to 720p. I would be fine with running 720p in game if I can have 120Hz. I have read that some monitors do not support 120Hz over HDMI, however.

So, does anybody know of a monitor that supports 120Hz 720p over HDMI ( I guess it would require an HDMI 1.4 input)?

A bunch almost all 120Hz monitors in fact, you're going to have more of an issue hitting 120fps with a GT540m

edit:

disregard, I am actually not sure whether it's even possible at 720p...

I play source games competitively, it's really easy to maintain 120FPS with competitive configs (I have already used this laptop with 1680x1050 as well as 1920x1080 with very rare drops below 120).

So I was thinking about either the BenQ XL2420T or the LG W2363D-PF. Both fine?

Oh, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to run 720P lol. It's pretty bad.
