I bought a 560 Ti about 2 days ago to replace my 550 Ti. Wow, what a huge difference it was! I'm very happy with my purchase and I plan on getting another for SLI soon.

However, I do feel like it's running a bit hot.

I do play FFXIV so I know it's a very high graphiced game so I'm expecting hot temperatures, but is this too much?

I have it overclocked to 930 with 2200 on the memory. The fan is set to auto but I sometimes make it around 75%.

My case has excellent airflow. I know some people suggest another fan on top of it, but I don't have access to one at the moment.

That is a bit warm. Grab MSI afterburner and setup some customer fan profiles for the card. If I don't do that for my 6950, the dam thing stays at 14% fan till about 90C then kicks to max... I would make it so that after 70C, your fans kick up to 65%. That should be enough to keep things below 80C

Not bad I guess, just about the average temp for an air cooled card. FFXIV is a DirectX 9 game. It's no Crysis or BF3. For a mid range card, I think you're temp is OK.

90C is still way to hot.... Though the card is rated to 105C.

I would again setup some customer profiles iwth MSI afterburner. I try not to let cards get above 85C for longevity sake.

hmm it is warm but my 560Ti ran very warm as well... using furmark and 100% fans i would get an average temp of 86 degrees... this was running off of stock clocks as well. Then I put the card under water and got 48 degrees while using fur mark

Oppsss, my mistake! I was looking on the core temps. Yes, your GPU temp of close to 90 c is hotter than normal. Maybe the game is too much for the card to handle. With that kind of temp probably you'll be getting some lags & close to getting BSOD. You got to set the 3D setting to low probably so your card can handle all the work.

Maybe you need water cooling.

Nope. The only thing it will do is wear out the fan faster, but even that that will take 3-4 years of CONSTANT 100% fan speed.

The only thing I can possibly think of is that the card is in the slot closest to my PSU. That's about all I can think. I can do some rearranging, but do you think it'll make a difference?
