I have a fan on one of my gtx 560 ti's that is making a whinning noise, the card is also not keeping up with cooling compared to the card at the top.

Typically the top SLI video card hotter, in my case the bottom defective fan card is running about 1-2c hotter on the bottom, and about 15c hotter on the top if i swapped the cards.

If I request a rma is msi going to send the same card back saying its within spec although it is clearly not running as effective as possible?

blew it out with compressed air last weekend.

my case doesn't allow much air into the front of the case, i have two top 140mm intakes and two 140mm intakes in the front of the case, but there is little opening in the front to really allow air in.. both cards stay pretty cool (the defective fan one hits 75c on heaven with tesselation and 4x AA)

I doubt it. If the whining is clearly audible and it definitely shouldn't be doing it, send the request in. You won't know until you try, right?

It makes a whinning sound, I can only hear it when I take my side panel off ( I have acoustic foam on it.. but when u take the panel off its LOUD) and clearly cools less than it should, I have two of the cards and have tested it a bunch with heaven benchs.

when running 1 card
Defective card hits 73c -75c
Good card hits 60c max!

Send in the request. It doesn't cost you anything to apply, so nothing to lose in that regard I guess?

The TFII was a disaster, I've had several TFII fans fail, as have many people.
I hope power logic was dropped as one of their suppliers.

I had to send it in yesterday. The fan bearing seemed to completely die, I could BARELY get the fins to spin a full circle once when spinning it with my finger. Huge resistance. Hopefully I get a good model back in the refurb, prior to the fan death I was getting great temps and oc's.

wait your fans at the top of the case are intakes? They need to be exhausts because heat naturally rises.

Cards been at MSI for over 13 days(delivered the 11th). It only updated they had it on the 18th.

And i still haven't recieved a update other than its "in processing."

I'm sure they have a huge stack of video cards and other things to test and work on but seriously on tuesday they will have had my card for a whole 3 weeks.. I really hope I get a update soon and I think I won't be going with MSI again. They've almost had the card for 3 tuesdays now...
