[Semi Accurate] Valve puts apps on Steam, Microsoft still lacks a Windows 8 strategy - Page 7

Metro works absolutely fine with a mouse and keyboard too.

Its not that it doesn't work that people don't like, its that the have to do things differently.

As he said, after enough time passes more and more people will be getting used to using W8 like its second nature and all the complaining will get very, very old.

Microsoft is doing the same exact thing Apple did a year ago, moving to a more touch friendly UI. Heck Microsoft is even releasing the Microsoft Touch Mouse, which IMO is Microsofts attempt at the Apple Magic Trackpad. Yeah people hated it, but they moved on. I can guarantee that the same thing is going to happen with Windows 8. People will rant about the new features they don't like during the first few months, then the complaints will go down and people will get used to it. Think about it, a year after OS X Lion's release, you just don't see people complaining about it now do you?

Because it's "in" to hate on it. There are some people who genuinely don't like it. There are also sheep and followers who want to be up to date with the latest thing to hate on this forum. Currently it's at, Metro and Apple. All the media and the negative press are doing the exact same thing... They're hunting for views and sales, their information is not necessarily credible. In fact, it'd be extremely naive to think everything out there is. That said, there are some genuine drawbacks by switching to Metro. Everyone will need practice to adjust to the new interface and gain the same level of productivity they once had. I don't like it that much, but I'm willing to try it once it comes out. A toast to the haters!

Yea it works with mouse and keyboard, it's just not what people are used to. My point is that M$ made a bigger leap to touch-based than Apple.

There really is no reason(at least for me or anybody I know)to even get Windows8.I just upgraded to Win7 when I built this PC.It should work fine for a couple of years, which at the time,windows9 will arrive. If you dont want W8,don't buy it.
