Yeah people hated it, but they moved on. I can guarantee that the same thing is going to happen with Windows 8. People will rant about the new features they don't like during the first few months, then the complaints will go down and people will get used to it. Think about it, a year after OS X Lion's release, you just don't see people complaining about it now do you?
Because it's "in" to hate on it. There are some people who genuinely don't like it. There are also sheep and followers who want to be up to date with the latest thing to hate on this forum. Currently it's at, Metro and Apple. All the media and the negative press are doing the exact same thing... They're hunting for views and sales, their information is not necessarily credible. In fact, it'd be extremely naive to think everything out there is. That said, there are some genuine drawbacks by switching to Metro. Everyone will need practice to adjust to the new interface and gain the same level of productivity they once had. I don't like it that much, but I'm willing to try it once it comes out. A toast to the haters!
