[Creative] Creative Introduces the Sound Blaster Z-Series - Page 16

there just needs to be affordable high quality external DACs to replace Sound Cards. Drivers for sound cards have always been bad and are only going to continue to be a problem. Plus no wasting MoBo slots

Good luck getting this crap to work with Windows 8 using the Creative drivers, my Titanium just stops working every time I restart my computer.

How much will I notice if I go from onboard to this new sound card?

yes, well you should. it's so hard with audio sometimes. I went from a Xonar DG to the Z and have been very happy with the improvement I have got.

Would you think I will notice going from onboard to a DG with Superlux HD668B. I am contemplating this purchase. Just wondering if I should go higher up, like the Z?

Well actually I bought it for the headphone amp and the face that you could have your speakers and headphones plugged in at the same time and just switch between them using software.

Now that you mention it, It would really be a lot easier than plugging it in and out all the time tongue.gif

Yes, definitely. I think you will notice a difference. If you do a lot of gaming than I think you will be very happy with the upgrade to either card. The Superlux HD668B are pretty good headphones. If you want a recommendation get the Z over the DG if you can afford it. It sounds way better. Not to mention that the Z comes with a really good microphone, which you might have a use for.

Ya I was contemplating getting thew samson sr850s instead. they appear to be almost the exact same cans. I think I will try out the DG with whichever pair of cans I end up with, then possibly move up to the Z when I get some spare change/decide it is worth the investment to me. Thanks! thumb.gif

The DP pro daughter board is only for audio creation right? Serves no purpose for gaming?

I think I will go with the Zx version.

I've found that if I switch modes on my X-fi Fatality from game mode to entertainment then back again it fixes the issue until I reboot...dam creative and their crap drivers!
