If you don't mind giving up windows 7 and windows 8, you can sign up for a free account from Dreamspark https://www.dreamspark.com/ (software is limited).

Also if you don't mind spending $19/$20 a year as a student you can get an ACM/IEEE account which gives you access to MSDNAA as well.

Eh, Windows 7 and 8 licenses are my main interest in Technet/MSDNAA/Dreamspark access. Would the $19 towards ACM help in this case?

No, they don't offer Windows 7 or Windows 8. Hopefully they do add them soon :-).

Nonetheless for $19/$20 you get a ton software... whether it be ACM or IEEE

I for one think it is worth it... $19 for thousands dollars worth of software is worth it any day :-).... Getting an external just to store them and the keys :-)... Take my word get any software you can while in school it is a whole lot cheaper.

It should change to the full version soon. If you get the full version of Windows 7 more than likely you should get access to Windows 8 as well. I myself patiently awaits.
