[Raid 0] Is there a way to check the drives for faults?

The short question is the title. Below is my personal situation.

So I have 2 1TB Samsung F3s is a Raid 0 Array using the onboard controller. In this case it would be the Gigabyte GBB36X Controller. I have wiped and reformatted these drives twice before due to I/O errors and just slowness issues. This PC is built purely as gaming, though I have in a past life used it for media which I stopped after the last wipe. Now its purely gaming and some work when I can't use my Mac (looks at you Publisher). Steam, which like a standard gamer these days, holds 95% of my games and it has decided not to work. It will try to boot, Lock up and shut down. If it does boot up it won't download/update games at all. I tried to go into the steam folder and it takes a good half hour to work my way into the portal 2 folder with close to 4 clicks. If I try to delete anything I get an I/o Error.

This is how it started the last 2 times. First time I ran chkdsk /f which locked the computer up and I had no way to precede. Second time I avoided chkdsk and ran diagnostic tools that were non-bios based. These slowly killed my computer and it got to the point that it was a shell, so I cleaned and started again. I have not wiped my SSD which holds my OS. I don't know what to do but I figured asking if there is a way to check my raid is step 1 on this try. I know SMART doesn't work and I heard chkdsk messes with the striping. I didn't see anything that could help in the bios. I'm currently at a stand still. I don't want to touch anything for the fear of screwing it all up another time. Please, any help would be fantastic.

Did you do this with them in raid or separate as it would make it easier to pin point which hard drive is causing the issue. Last time I had a hard drive do this and I RMA'd the bad boy which was quickly replaced. Have you tried using the Dos version of Seatools to test both hard drives? Since seagate owns Samsung's mechanical hard disk IP now.

First tho I would , if that doesnt work try to . And if that doesnt work try running . If that still doesnt work try using Dos Seatools.

1.check to make sure all the cables and plugs are nice and snug

2.replace the cables if you have spares on hand

3.Try out Dos version of Seatools with their test suite

4.chkdsk with the drives in AHCI non-Raid, then IDE legacy if that dont work.

5.Disconnect all drives and connect one at a time and see if sea tools works if you have sata ports going dead.

I currently have a HD issue my self with I/O timeouts with a F3 1TB HD103SJ. Then found out anything connected to that port the hard drive came from would do the same thing.
