3770k - Decent temps with Prime95?

Thread Starter
CPU: 3770k, 3.9 GHz
Cooler:: H100 with stock fans and MX-4 thermal paste
Prim95 is set to "Blend Test" (8 threads)
Temps are around 60c, give or take 1c. Are these good temps or no?
Also, what is a safe voltage if I wanted a 4.2GHz overclock?
You are well within a safe temp at load. You shouldn't have a problem hitting 4.2GHz with vcore set to auto. You may even be able to undervolt a bit at that clock speed.

Have you tried 4.4GHz with Vcore set to auto. The temps are withing a safe range. Maybe try to bring the voltage down a little bit at a time and test for stability. That should lower your temps even more. Also, make sure to run prime for at least a few hours to test for stability.

4.5GHz
1.320v (Auto)
Temps with Prime95 were 80-85c. Any advice?
What program are you using to monitor the temps? I would steer clear of 90c for daily use. Try using a fixed voltage and slowly bring it down and test stability using prime. Start with 1.320v and slowly work your way down.

RealTemp
What voltage would I need to be stable at (4.5GHz) to have a "good chip"?

Each and every chip is different. There is no way for me to tell you what voltage you'll need to run at any particular clock with any certainty. The only thing you can do is test for stability. There are numerous overlooking guides pertaining to ivy bridge cpu's on this forum. Good Luck and Happy overclocking!
