disgusting Dell SK-8135

Thread Starter
I have had this keyboard for a long time and have obviously spilled one too many things in it. The mute, stop and reverse buttons next to the volume control are sticking badly, all the other buttons are fine (dirty but fine). Has anyone disassembled one of these for a cleaning? The back looks to be held on by about 15 screws, will I have access to clean the media player control area if I open it up? There is obviously some loose stuff under the keys as well which I can hear rattling around, but it isn't affecting operation at this point.

Thanks

This turned out to be very simple. About 30 screws to get the back plastic and metal shield off. The membrane for the keyboard and USB hub and circuit board for the media controls popped right out. Leaving an easy to clean piece that I did not even have to remove the keys from. A lot of hair, crumbs, etc were removed with a car of air and rinsing in the sink a few times. I'd post a picture of two but its not letting me.

I guess I had this vision of crap flying everywhere which happened to me back in mid 80s with an original IBM PC keyboard that I took apart after spilling coffee in it, springs and buttons everywhere. Or having to remove all 104+ individual keys. But none of that was necessary.
