.avi youtube upload = 70 hours?

What the heck, why does a .avi file take 4000 minutes to upload to youtube? I have cable 10mb/s internet its 55 gig is there anyway to upload it faster with out it losing video quality? It really looks damn nice.

If its 55gigs you should probably compress it, I doubt you want to keep a file that large on your computer when it can be easily compressed.

Try the Xvid codec, it's pretty solid for converting and compressing.

You have a 10mb/s connection as UPLOAD? As in 100Mbps? I'm doubting that. 70 hours to upload a 55GB file seems about right. Make sure your ISP doesn't cap upload... lots do.

A 5-15 minute shouldn't even be 1GB, let alone 55GB. I'm surprised youtube is even letting you upload it.

If you mean 10Mbps upload, then thats roughly 1MB/s for upload. 55GB at 1MB/s is going to take a very long time. I suspect your internet is probably 10Mbps for download, 1Mbps for upload... which means it would be 55GB at 100kb/s or so (probably 70+ hours).

Compress that thing, it should be no more than 1GB.

Utterly no reason to upload a 55GB video file as YouTube is going to totaly destroy the quality of it anyway.

Transcode it to a more manageble bitrate, then upload it.
