Terrible SteelSeries Experience!

Thread Starter
I am a very low sensitivity gamer. My mouse settings are 125/800. That being the case I bought a very large QCK+ mouse pad. I loved it. But after a year, it degraded and just didn't perform as well. I opened a RMA and thankfully even though the year was up they said they would RMA it. Props to them for that. However, they took forever! It arrived early in the week and I didn't get a response until later the week after. They finally approved it and shipped it out. To my dismay, they sent me the small version of the mouse pad. It is completely useless for me. I contacted them yesterday afternoon and they still haven't responded and my ticket has now been open for a total of 28 days. Anyone else have similar issues with SteelSeries before?

Wait, you RMA'd a mouse pad after a year because it didn't "perform" as well? It sounds like your QcK+ just wore down after heavy usage. You do realize all mouse pads (maybe excluding glass) wear down extensively after a year of use, right?

To answer your question though SteelSeries customer support is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes they'll reply instantly and other times you'll see no response for weeks. Typically when you get a delayed response they'll apologize for it and send you a free mouse pad (lol) or something.

I'm still scratching my head over how someone can ask for an RMA on a product that regularly wears down with normal wear and tear. confused.gif

I'm not familiar with that particular mousepad, does it have a warranty?

Sounds like you need a steelseries SX mousepad. It's made of metal and will basically last forever.

All mousepads will get worse over time and I can't understand why anyone would RMA a product that cost 10$ after using it for 1 year.

This, I use the Qck pads from steelseries because they're excellent value for money and I have no problem replacing them every 12 - 18 months

Honestly I'm amazed they would offer any sort of replacement for you. But being a qck user myself this is great news thumb.gif I wouldn't mind the rma raking longer than usual if I got a brand new mousepad for free.

I sent in a Steelseries ikari Laser, and after 2,5 weeks I got a Steelseries Sensei back. I contacted them again because the sensei was both too small and was uncomfortable.

I got the 2nd contact answered, but only a generic reply, and not a reply to what i actually asked them about. Asked them to be sure to send me a Ikari (laser or optical) back, and to get that mouse first and then I ship the Sensei back, but no reply yet.

I don't understand why you're complaining tbh. You're getting a brand new mouse pad for free. A good one too!
