AMD is planning to give further price cuts to its Radeon HD 7000 series lineup after the launch of NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 660 Ti. NVIDIA’s GTX 660 Ti is already awaited by many fans and mid-range gamers.

To be specific, AMD would announce price cuts on Radeon HD 7850/ HD 7870 and Radeon HD 7950. The Radeon HD 7950 recently got a price cut from $450 to $350 for reference models. The retail price of NVIDIA’s GTX 660 Ti is set at $299 so our guesstimate is that the new price of HD 7950 would be around $329.

That is awesome. The 7950 is already an absolute beast of a card. Once you overclock you can literally get top of the line performance for $300.

Good news. Just shows you how stupid people are actually wanting a 660 Ti ahead of a 7950.

I can't wait for the 9000 series, as that's about when I'll be able to afford a new card. :/

I highly doubt.

AMD pricing hasn't seemed to effect NVIDIA pricing on 600 series cards at all.

AMD seems to have more product availability and better prices and NVIDIA cards seem to have fans wanting them.

Only thing that is going to get NVIDIA to lower their prices is if people stop buying NVIDIA.
