Samsung S23A700D - best 120hz monitor?

Is there currently anything better than the S23A700D for under $400? Or any upcoming 120hz displays worth checking out?

In terms of 23" 120hz 2D gaming...IMO, YES.

However, it's not great for 3D and also lacks height/tilt adjustments..something the BenQ 2420 (matted 24") excels in.

There are a few other good 120hz monitors...but Samsung S23A700D is my current 120hz monitor.

27" monitor is also a fun size...but the 27" 750D is hard to find...and the 950D has a high chance of QA issues due to awkward uneven pressure of stand.

FYI - Korean 1440p glossy 60hz IPSs also look good.

I don't ever plan on using 3d and I don't mind the stand not being adjustable.

Really sad that I missed it for $280 on Newegg a couple weeks ago.

Since you don't plan on using the 3D then there is nothing better, especially considering the price in terms of quality 120hz displays.

@rmo120hz

That is a 60Hz monitor. And take your spam elsewhere please.

Yeah the Samsung S23A700D is the best 23" 120Hz monitor. I own the Samsung S23A950 which is the same panel but with different input modes and aesthetics.

If you want excellent 120Hz monitors, go for the Samsung 120Hz range.

They include:

23" options
  • Samsung S23A950D
  • Samsung S23A750D
  • Samsung S23A700D

27" options
  • Samsung S27A950D
  • Samsung S27A750D

Imo best gaming only monitor is BenQ XL2420T with colorimeter it can't get better then that imo untill we see IPS+120HZ. Well I guess the Asus VG236HE could be but I can't find it anywhere to test.

You can see much more ingame with a matte monitor imo, some places on a glossy are so bright that it hurts even when tuning donw brightness alot. (I used 20 on the Samsung with Gamma mode 3).

The samsung also had to high input lag for my likes, the benq played much smoother on FPS games.

But in terms if reading text ye AG coating is boring, but then again if designing stuff Samsung plastic panels are zzz. Doing anything in photoshop is just rofl, also everything is to bright.
