AOL messes up?! help

Thread Starter
my friend just called me and told me his AOL web browser is messed up, it wont load any pages yet he can still use msn, he is getting 2 connections now apparently, one saying 2.2mb (his real connection) and another saying like something ridiculous (cant remember, but dead high MBps)!

Can anyone tell me what i should look for quickly just before i go and check it out in a few mins?!

If he can connect with AOL, tell him to try IE to load a page.

Try switching the cables (I'm reading that there are two) to see if it's the jack or the connection

He can still load pages in IE. Connect like you normally would with AOL, then minimize the AOL browser and load up IE and try to connect to google or better yet, Overclock.net.

If it's AOL Broadband, try resetting the modem. Turn off the modem for 30 seconds then turning it back on, that works sometimes. Or like another member said, try switching the cables. However, do one thing at a time. Try IE first. If that doesn't work try resetting the routers, etc, etc.
