not sure how to upgrade

Thread Starter
hey everybody

iv got the upgrade itch at the moment but not sure how to go about it. as youbcan see in my sig rig im running a x6 1100t with a sabertooth board. was comtemplating heading down the intel route. would love to stick with amd but the difference between the 8150 and x6 isnt worth it from what iv seen. i have betweem 600 - 800 for board and cpu. ram to i guess. one thing i should add is i got another 6950 for crossfire. im not interested in another graphics card since i just got the second one. what are your recomendations ?. appreciate any help.

What games/programs are you getting unsatisfactory performance in?

I'm asking because I guess the answer is 'none' (Though I could imagine scenarios where that is not so). You should probably just shove the 2nd 6950 into your current motherboard and keep having fun.

Maybe consider a monitor upgrade if you're feeling antsy to spend some money. I'm assuming of course your Phenom II is heavily overclocked. If you're not much of an overclocker, a move to Intel will show some benefits.

P.S. LOL @ power supply. Sorry, couldn't help it. tongue.gif

^ like what he said, if you are itching to upgrade but you are really satisfied with how your pc is running, going from amd to intel might not be the best thing to do right now. you may want to get a big ssd instead (if you don't have one), or better cooling (water?), get more ram i guess but 8 to me is good enough, or get a good sound card, etc. biggrin.gif

Yeah 6950 crossfire will absolutely crush most games, and more modern multi-threaded games like BF3 should give you no issues with that 1100t. Your ram also looks great 8 gigs at 1600mhz is always good. I'd have to also agree with Nethermir about the SSD.
