[Various] nVidia GeForce GTX 660Ti reviews - Page 13

I got one. $299 (plus shipping) @ Newegg with free Borderlands 2. Gigabyte GV-N66TWF2-2GD.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125441

We'll see. Now do I migrate the old GTX 460 to the living room or sell it? (probably sell it)

The review on Hardocp sold me. Drastic upgrade from the 460. Served me well for 2 years...

The physics, look how good that looks.

Phys-X is in so few games that it really is not worth it to me to be a deciding factor in which card I get.
Also, good thing I absolutely hate the Borderland series thumb.gif

Picked up 2 MSI OC's to compare against my 690. Since the 690 overclocks terribly these have a shot at coming super close for 400 dollars less

Looks pretty cool to me! I like extra crap flying everywhere and flappy flags that explode.

I wonder if there is any benefit to keeping the 460 just for physix purposes... probably not.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention but there are ways to use Phys-X and have an AMD card, look it up.

Even at 1920 x 1080 a well clocked HD 7950 will easily beat even a GTX 660 Ti OC. Not to mention the scaling on HD 7950 with overclocking is excellent. Sapphire HD 7950 950 Mhz is a good option for USD 350. with a HD 7970 PCB and very good cooler you can get this card running easily at 1100 Mhz or even higher.

BF3 1920 x 1200 4x AA

HD 7970 (925) - 64.4 with catalyst 12.3
HD 7970(925) - 65.5 with catalyst 12. beta
GTX 660 Ti (1195) - 66.6
HD 7950 (1025) - 69.7 with catalyst 12.3

And this is a game where GTX 660 Ti does well. You can draw your conclusions.

Well keep in mind PhysX on high settings in Arkham City cut most cards FPS by 40%.

http://www.geforce.com/optimize/guides/batman-arkham-city-graphics-breakdown-and-performance-guide/#3

So imagine trying to run this at 1080P or above, with some sort of AA, and PhysX. Card would take to much of a performance hit.

There needs to be a review that shows all of the cards OCd to the same clocks. Preferably 1200 for AMD cards, and 1250/1300 for Nvidia cards.

No one here is going to run their cards at stock so most of these reviews are pointless.

The first three games were tested with FXAA and that is the only reason its performance was so close to 670/7950 levels.
On the Witcher 2 and Skyrim where they used AA it fell 10 FPS behind a 670.
I have a GB 670 that overclocks like a champ and am happy with my purchase.
How ever if my purchase was being made now their is no way I would take a 660 TI over a 7950 when at the same price.
Overclocked 7950's are great and for the price can't be beat.

You sir obviously do not read threads. But to each his own. Enjoy your card man.
