Security Camera Question

Thread Starter
Sorry guys if this is the wrong place to post this.

I need some advice regarding security cameras. Basically what I'm trying to do would be to set up about 8 cameras in a factory. These are the things I'm looking for though,

1) at least 4 cameras that will work in the dark (night vision/ infrared)
2) preferably if they can rotate
3) able to link wireless so I can view the live footage when I'm overseas (on an ipad/ laptop)

the factory has its own wifi system.

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

ps: oh yea, if possible, would be great if the security system is available locally in Singapore and isnt too expensive.

You will need a few thousand dollars for that kind of setup.

check amazon or B&H

honestly just browse what is out there. if its super cheap and will only cost you under maybe $1500 for what you need in your OP then its probably low quality

picking out security cameras isnt nearly as hard as picking out a real camera. everything that you listed exists just find the cameras that offer those capabilities lol

How do you feel from ordering out of China?
http://www.chinavasion.com/china/wholesale/Surveillance_Security/

My friend ordered 8 cameras from China for the same price 1 camera would cost in the EU, and they worked fine thumb.gif

However there is the obvious risks associated with china, e.g. parts may not be good quality, warranty might be difficult etc

Personally I have had alot of success with ordering from China, but its your money wink.gif

This setup: http://www.chinavasion.com/china/wholesale/Surveillance_Security/DVR_Cards_Systems/8_Camera_Complete_Security_Camera_and_DVR_Kit

Has 8 cameras with motion censor and night vision + internet viewing. They don't rotate, but they are cheap.

You need to find out a few things first.
Do you want Analog of Digital?
Analog cameras are generally in low quality and lower resolution (CIF, D1, 960H) and digital is mainly (720p/1080p) recording. Both analog and digital have its advantages and disadvantages as well. As for the cameras, once you select what type of standalone (I would recommend a standalone DVR) DVR, you can go ahead and select the cameras. There are a few different types (Bullet, Eyeball(Turret), Vandal Proof Dome, Indoor Dome, Box, etc.) and go from there. Most DVR manufactures have an app for iPhones and Androids for remote viewing as well. thumb.gif
