NH-D14 SE2011 vs. original NH-D14

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if its worth getting the NH-D14 SE2011 version over the original because of the PWM fans. I'm aware that the brackets are different and I read that I can contact Noctua for the 1155/56 brackets. I'm trying to make my build as silent as possible and I'm assuming that the SE2011 version will be quieter because of its PWM fans. Is this assumption correct or should I just go for the original?

Thanks for the help biggrin.gif

Noctua doesn NOT send the Bracket for free in THIS specific case. You would have to buy it.
PWM fans are not quieter per se. The Motherboard is just able to adjust the fan speed via PWM automatically.
Also there are better options if you want quiet fans and are willing to spend the money.

Oh okay that's good to know. I'm all ears on how I can make my build quieter. So I'm guessing I should just get the normal version then and put the low-noise resistor on it.
