I'd like to create a custom harness for my new Case Labs SMH10:
I had a few questions regarding how I should go about this since I know it will be quite heavy.
My application:
I need a harness primarily to get the case down 13 steps in my house. The case itself has wheels so it can be wheeled on a flat surface such as a floor, but I would prefer to carry it across concrete. This would be if I took it to a LAN or to a friends house. It needs to be incredibly stable since there are watercooling components within it but it must also hold a decent amount of weight since there will be two radiators in the bottom of the case.
My questions:
#1) Nylon vs polyester: Nylon I believe is the typical "go to" for camera straps and pretty much every strap you see nowadays I believe. I could be wrong. Polyester is seat belt material which is incredibly strong and doesn't stretch nearly as much as nylon. I guess polyester is also far superior if wet, but I don't plan on bringing my computer out in the rain.
#2) How do I do this: I have no idea where to start. I will need the strips of material, clips, and what else? Is that it? Do I buy one continuous length of material or should I have it custom cut to a specific length and how can I tell? Then comes the handle. How does this attach to the rest of the case? What type of stitching should I do and I assume it should be by a sewing machine?
