Get something like antec kuhler or a air cooler.
evo has 4 heat pipes, and they all make as much contact as physically possible, as opposed to the 212+. It's a good cooler.
As for the LLC level, setting it to auto probably lowered it, thereby applying less voltage, which is what reduced the temperatures.
As for troubleshooting the blue screens, unplug everything that isn't absolutely essential, including ram sticks. Use just one, and if you have problems switch it. If you still have problems it's probably not the ram. Then return the bios to factory defaults and go from there. If you still get bsods, you can try a fresh install of windows. Once you identify what component is causing the bsod, it will be much easier to solve the problem.
