Yeah, but can they play them at around 60FPS solid? Not all.

Batman and Alice were the only games to ever give me problems with PhysX and that was because of insane particle counts set up in the ini files. I highly doubt there ever 500k or more particles on screen at once or more but they sure set it up that way. Every game I've played since Nvidia captured the company that made PhysX and made it GPU computing I've never had an issue.

Yea, it's also important to note than when "effects" are done with Havok, they're in the same world simulation as the rest of your game, so you can have them actually affect gameplay in some way if you wanted, whereas GPU-based PhysX is purely visual and cannot interact with the CPU-based physics running separately.

There was Force Unleashed which havok went nuts over and created a tech demo over. And the destruction was HARDLY there in the final product. And this was 7 years ago! And not a single havok game has ever shown the level of particle effects and object destruction that PhysX has.

then don't switch, please don't buy a certain brand just for PhysX, this is why people get mad at nVidia, non performance gimmicks

for something like this, yes. I would turn down AA to x2 to enable Physx and see all the extras. It all depends on the game and situation. AA removes fine little jaggies that aren't that noticeable, especially in a fast-paced shooter/rpg. Would I rather have 8xAA no physx or 2xAA + physx? easily 2x physx. But that's just me, I usually max out at 2xAA anyways, the performance hit doesn't usually justify the little bit of smoother edges to me.

http://www.dvhardware.net/article38321.html
http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/item/20314-how-nvidia-helps-keep-pc-gaming-alive
I am not over stating anything, at all, this is simply how it is. Nvidia has hundreds of employees who do nothing but program for developers that sign on with theTWIMTBP program. You can't for a second sit there and say this isn't a HUGE factor on if a developer wants to sign up or not. If a developer has a budget of $20,000,000 for a game and Nvidia comes along and says "Sign onto our program and we will provide $3,000,000 worth of programming", that developer isn't going to be swayed. Money doesn't exchange hands, it just never has to leave the developers pocket because Nvidia picks up the tab.
EDIT: This isn't a fanboy issue, heck I am using an Nvidia product right now, this is simply a business practice that ends up screwing the end user, us.
EDIT 2: I highlighted a very key word in the above quote, and that is "most". Nvidia isn't stating money doesn't EVER change hands, just that "most" doesn't.

they spend millions of dollars, that MOST of which equals to better quality graphics for all, and add a lil NVIDIA intro to games. THANKS! only very little of that goes into physx-only stuff (games with physx is relatively small compared to TWIMTBP) now in your developer budget scenario, you are basically saying that they couldn't afford to give cutting edge graphics, but they let NVIDIA do their thing and add an intro? and sometimes nvidia only physx? in those scenarios, the better graphics and/or physics wouldn't be there at all for ANYONE without nvidia. yet again, this is win-win for everyone 95% of the time, and win for nvidia only physx like 5% of the time. Even if I were an AMD fanboy for whatever reason, I think I could be ok with this.

Got this card sitting in my htpc http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814551002
Would this card be enough for hybrid physx with my crossfired 6870's?

Which Physics engine does the last 2 Red Faction games, and last 2 Battlefield games use? I would site those games as having the best Physics engine/ implementation of physics and impact on gameplay.
