Do I need a separate HTPC?

Thread Starter
I have an inspiron 531 that I could add a gt520, a ceton infinitv 4, and a 2tb hard drive to (total ~$350). I use this pc, but not at the same time as I watch tv. I would watch tv (using extended display) on my crt (with a vga to s-video adapter) and on my other monitor through hdmi, and sometimes I would watch tv on both at the same time. Would there be any problems with this (I never turn that computer off)? Or should I just wait until the ceton q comes out?

I would answer, but your opening posts doesn't make sense to me. You have 3 monitors, and 2 computers. Somehow you're watching tv on both computers, but you're not as well. I'm also not sure why you chose to list out the display resolutions of each of your monitors. Not sure why we needed to know....

So if you could rephrase some of that, that would be great.

If I understand the OP right, it should work. But don't expect the best quality from it, since it is 480i.

I will have a 27" 2560x1440 monitor that I'm going to be using with it (yes, I know the signal is only 1080i). I'll only watch SD stuff on the crt, since it looks so disgusting watching SD stuff from my cable box on my 1920x1080 monitor right now.
