Update 12-9-12
The SSD no longer boots up.
Lost all my files, can't even get it to spin as secondary.
I had to re install WIndows on my C300 SSD my 2 year old drive that is still running strong
Got LESS THEN 4 months out of the Transcend SSD
I have called there support and left a message
I have also PM'ed there TECH on here

Lets see what happens. I will call them in the AM as well during business hours.

Amazon got it to me in 1 day Transcend 256 gb
http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-256GB-SATA-inch-TS256GSSD320/dp/B008M9U3CG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345164368&sr=8-1&keywords=Transcend+256gb+SSD+today
155 shipped I couldn't say no with no tax.

I'm bummed to see there is no new firmware on there web site

I'm going to be formatting my old Circual C300 128gb into my gaming drive
I got this 256 so I can have my Windows and Steam games on

Here are two benchmarks, i grabbed so far

The 128 C3 (Not a C4) Older Gen
Crucial Technology 128 GB Crucial RealSSD C300 Series Solid State Drive CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1

Vs the New Transcend 256gb SSD today

I'm going to format my Computer now to the 256gb and do the full SSD tweaks

This was run out of box from the C3 with Windows 7 64 bit on my rig, so hopefully after tweaks and new format the numbers will go update

I will update this for anyone who is interested into the new Transcend SSD's

The Transcend could very well be faster in daily use. AS-SSD uses highly incompressible data while most programs, etc would be using relatively compressible data.

Yeah stay away from these cheap drives! I learned the hard way. Other people are benching them the same type of speeds

They need a firmware update bad

My C300

VS My Trans 256gb

I skipped the lower test and just did the important one, so I guess it just doesn't bench well with the other tool

Hello to everybody,

Thank you for the feedback. The Transcend 256GB SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5 inch SSD 560/530 MB/s TS256GSSD320 should provide maximum faster performance using a SATA III motherboard compatible; otherwise you mightl reach SATA II rates of transfers (300MB/s) .

When running benchmark tests and comparing them to expectations, manufacturers rate the maximum speed (ATTO benchmark) and a lot of users are using the AS SSD/CrystalDiskMark with different settings and that is providing a range of different/slower results. Some users have posted their results of both ATTO and AS SSD benchmarks showing the range of results in the image section of this product.

Sorry to hear that you are not 100% satisfied with the drive, but please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions that can hopefully make your system run faster using the Transcend SSD 320 drive.

Regards,

Captain Transcend

I don´t think the AS SSD-score is bad for SATA2-ports

Can you post a screenie of Drystal Disk Info? I´m interested which SMART-values it shows
