FWIW, mine will run any of the cores at a cool 4GHz when Turbo Core kicks in. At least one core has problems around 4.1, but I haven't bothered to isolate which one.

Having a meltdown prone Mobo, I don't try to run them that fast all at once. I've settled on 4x, 5x or 6x 2.9 as a load that won't kill the MOSFETs. They get pretty toasty after a few minutes, but are not in outright blazing.

Please post screenshots of your other CPU-Z pages.
What speed and timings is your memory rated for?
What are you running it at?
What NB speed?
etc.

I use to run my 1055t at 3.5 with turbo still activated it would go to almost 4.2. It was always stable like that. Bought my 125w 1055t when it first came out. Since last week i set it at 3.7( no turbo ) at 1.488v. Must be that its from first batch but this thing always uses alot of voltage and the fact i get .075 vdroop under load. 4ghz i have to use 1.55v.

I say give it hell see what she does.

Nice. What sort of cooling do you have?

I'm running mine(stress testing atm, no errors so far) at 3.6ghz, stock volts. Pretty happy with it biggrin.gif

I believe you should have no issues reaching 3.8GHz with 1.42ish volts.

Woaah! Dat 95W drool.gif

Those chips are magnific. People run them at 4.2GHz with voltages a regular 125W part would need to reach 3.8GHz.

Well the other day I got my GSkill Ares 1866Mhz RAM. I didn't install my water cooler yet but I did see if I can get a 4Ghz overclock with the air cooler. I couldn't headscratch.gif

My 1045t refuses to go any higher than 3.8Ghz, I'm starting to think there is a factory limit on the chip or something, this is two motherboards I tried it in.. 305 for the FSB? Mine will NEVER do that. Every time I try I get a "bool failure due to overclocking" BIOS error. I've lowered the RAM speed, messed with the timings a bit, changed voltages, disabled cores (even tried all except for the first core), this chip will NOT go past 3.8Ghz. Anyone got an opinion on this because I'm officially stumped??? HT and Northbridge are also under 2000Mhz, I swear I am doing everything right in the BIOS but mine will not hit over 4Ghz.

Some of you mentioned the "core performance boost" multiplier. When I enable this, a few times I was hitting between 4 to 4.5Ghz in CPU-Z, but when I stress tested at this speed in Prime 95, it would revert back to the lowest stable speed based on the FSB. Core performance boost is kind of sucky and doesn't give you a legit 4Ghz overclock. I can also speak on the peformance, my games will not run at a nice FPS without the 3.8Ghz overclock.

Lastly, my system can't stably run with 1866Mhz RAM speed (which is making me mad). My system crashes/blue screens, I increased the voltage but nothing.

Running a semi custom water setup. Swiftech apogee 350 drive with an xspx 360 rad and a swiftech mini reservoir.

I think air coolers just hit a saturation point on these hex core chips and cant dissipate heat quick enough. Before the cooler can shift the heat the auto protect on the chip/mobo kicks in and stops it
Post your specs and your bios settings - we'll have a look and get that water cooler on :-)

Not sure about wattage. I just think the fabs got manufacturing sorted and are effectively using chips that would be binned much higher if AMD were still selling them and hadn't thrown all their eggs into the FX basket

I've been experiencing the same problem, hence why I settled at 3.0 ghz. As he^ said, it's definitely something to do with cooling, because I really don't think that it'd be unable to hit 3.8 ghz when it's already doing 3.6 at stock voltage smile.gif

What's your motherboard btw? Could be something to do with that too, maybe our VRMs are getting too hot at 3.8?Mines a 990FXA UD3.
