SLI GTX 580 and Nvidia Surround

Thread Starter
Hope I'm in the right section, but I have a few questions about Nvidia Surround.

I currently have a single GTX 580 3GB and I'm about to get a second one.
Now, I currently have one Asus VS248H-P Monitor and I plan to get two more. Would it work with this monitor? Does Nvidia Surround need a specific type of monitor? Or does it just have to be the same. (Resolution, Refresh, Ect.)

I plan to game with this setup, so I want to know about the performance with a pair of SLI GTX 580's with Nvidia Surround enabled.
How well does it do in games such as Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Crysis, ect.?

Will I need to do any special setting tweaks?

What do you guys think?thumb.gif

All Surround requires is that they are the same res. You plug 2 monitors into the top card, one into the bottom, enable SLI and Surround.

Benchies!

Pretty well I'd say. You're looking at close to 60fps in BF3 on high settings.

Am I able to do two HDMI out and one DVI out or does it not matter? How much of a performance gain would you get versus a 1.5GB setup?
Worried because I've heard that GTX 580's in SLI can't handle BF3 on Ultra with Surround. rolleyes.gif

500-series can not run 3 screen Surround with one card.

2 580s can't run BF3 Surround on ultra at 60fps, they can just barely do it on high.

You have a 3GB, if you do SLI with a 1.5GB, they're both going to do 1.5GB and you don't want that for Surround.

I will SLI with two GTX 580's with 3GB of VRAM. It would still only run on 60 FPS on high, correct? Or is that an unbenched test?

Anyway, I was asking if you needed all DVI connections for it to work, or could you mix and match DVI and HDMI.

About. That doesn't count overclock, and that bench was off a 1200p Surround, so you'll get slightly better. (check the Anand link I posted)

Na, you should be able to use what ever connections you want to.

Awesome. Hopefully I'll get around 50 FPS on Ultra with Overclocking. We'll see.
