Hey Regal,

I have been using a SS QcK Heavy for years now and I love it. I am aware, however, that most others prefer thinner mats with a harder surface. I haven't met many people at LANs who like the soft "wetsuity" kind of material, but it suits my style. I use teflon skates on my mouse (a Mamba) and don't notice any friction.

Depends on the type of surface you want. Many people love the QCK, myself, not so much. I returned mine after about 20 minutes. Tracking was much slower than I was used to on hard pads. The pad comes rolled up and takes awhile to go completely flat, the thickness raises the mouse up a tad and I personally like to have a more flat surface. I think my dislike stems from my favoring of hard mousepads.

Thus, 1 vote for the 9HD. The 9HD is also quite large though; measure it out and compare the relative size with your desk. I don't quite understand the need for massive mousepads. I personally am a high sensitivity gamer and the mouse doesn't really travel long distances. Medium sized mousepads suit me quite well.

Of course almost all of this is based on personal opinion. If you favor soft mats you will most likely disagree with me. However, also look into the Razer Scarab, 4HD, and if money is no object, the Artisan Hayate and Shiden

optical or infrared go for the heavy, if you have a laser mouse get the 9hd, but the qck heavy is wayyy more nice on the hands and control is nice i use the heavy and the 9hd but id say the heavy is a lot better
