Maxwell rumors

According to http://videocardz.com/, Maxwell (GM110/GTX 780) is rumored for a Q1 2013 release.

How realistic is this rumor? Will GK110 (GTX 685) be a short-lived, limited quantity release, assuming it's released in the first place and will Maxwell be released in Q1 2013?

What are your theories?

Probably wont realease for at least Q3 seeing as the rumors are usually a few months early

i haven't seen any recent news..

anyone know if maxwell will be a significant increase in vid card technology? Compared say to the jump from 400's-600's (which was great, but not ground breaking)..

if so, what area will the major improvements be?

Yeah right. Kepler was supposed to be released Q2 2011 and we all know how that went. There is no way Maxwell will be released Q1 2013.

True, but what if the 8970 significantly beats the 680? I can't see Nvidia releasing GK110 in limited quantities like they said they would, because they'd sell out quick and AMD would make a killing with the 8970 as they'd have much higher quantities of stock on the market, kind of like the way it is now.
