Hey ocn,

Was thinking of getting the mobo GA-A75M-D2H and was wondering if its compaible with a IDE ODD? IDE is pretty old I assume so I'm kinda thinking no and that it takes SATA only.

Anyone wanna clarify? Thanks!

The GA-A75M-D2H does not seem to have a PATA connector. So you cannot connect IDE HDD's to it.
The real question of course is: why would you want to? on this day and age you don't want an IDE harddrive in your system for use (darn slow).
If there are files on it you want to acces, you might want to look for a external hardrive casing with IDE or an adaptor (so you hook it up on a USB port)

Unfortunatly, that motherboard has no IDE port, it has 6 SATA ports.

Okay, now I know for sure hahah I knew IDE was old but now I know what conenctors it uses and adaptors. Thanks!

In answer too why I would consider IDE is beecause I was considering recycling old parts from my old computer to save money.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone!
