Hey guys got a few more little add-ons delivered for "Lethal Threat" Getting very close to finally having it all done.
This is the new 7970 I got for it. I was going to use it in crossfire with the original XFX 7970 Black Edition gpu I already have. But for the monet I'm only going to run 1 gpu. I tried it out to see what kind of difference it made. But since I only have one monitor at the moent the difference was very minimal. So until I can get a second monitor it will be just fine with one gpu.
I actually liked the way this card looks and the temps were very good. The noise was very minimal also. If I wasn't adding it to the loop it would have performed just fine with this cooling set-up. Those fans are removeable for easier cleaning of the heatsinks. And you can adjust the fans up and down so as to get them as close or far away from the heasink as you want for diferent sound and temps. Mind you it looks like a dual slot card. But it actually takes up about 2 1/2 slots with the fans at the lowest setting. And at the highest setting it takes up almost a full 3 slots. So if your going to use 2 of these in crossfire make sure you have a mobo with good spacing between your pci-e slots.
This is without a doubt the nicest and brightest led stop plug I could find for my reservoir. It came with two sets of sleeved ledplugs. One was sleeved in red the other in black and the finish on the plug itself is very nice as with all the other monsoon fittings. Just remember if you use one of these the finish is nice but it is also very easily scratched just like their compression fitting so be very delicate. And the other little package was saome extra sata, molex, atx and 24 pin plugs in red. I decided to get all the plugs in red to match the red, white and blue camo paracord I am using in this build. They came out very nice once they were all done if I say so myself. And I'd also like to say I have used FrozenCPU.com several times in the last few months for this build and a few others. And every single time I have used them they have sent me an email with a tracking number and shipping confirmation the same day I ordered from them. I usually had the shipping confirmation within 2-3 hour from placing the orders. They have shown me the easiest, fastest, highest quality service of any vendor I have used so far. I have yet to have an issue with anything they have sent me. I will definitely be using them alot more in the near future. Hopefully one of these days they hook me up with a sponsorship or at least a shirt or something!? Lol!!! But seriously they are very good.
As you can see it the Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z motherboard. Mother board was also a full atx but it was a thinner board so it looked a bit small in the Switch 810 case. This board on the other hand fill the tray up very nicely. And it looks and performs like the beast it is claimed to be. I would also like to Thank MGF Derp for having the board shipped so promptly. It arrived on the day expected and was very well packaged. I was very surprised to see that he packaged it better than if it would have come from a major supplier. Now hopefully I can get this 2700k to over 5Ghz on this!!!
This is a shot of the MIVE-Z installed and test fitting the rear 120mm rad to see how the tubing was going to have to be run. I was very much surprised at how easy it was to fit the 120 in under the 360 top rad. I was even able to still use a push-pull fan set-up on the 360 top rad with no modding required. Next time I have a chance I want to get another Enermax 120mm fan to put the 120 rad in push-pull also. But for now it has the top 360,front 280 rads in push-pull and the rear 120 rad in just push as an exhaust.
A shot with the Hue set to red and the Enermax fans installed. I was going to go with the LED Enermax's. But I thought it would have been way to much with so many led fans plus the Hue and the white led strip I am using to display the medals. So the non-led fans worked out just fine.
Another shot with the Hue set to a whitish blue. I haven't reinstalled the top half of the psu cover yet. There is still quite some work to be done so there was no reason for me to put it in yet.
The Hue set to a darker blue tone. I love the Hue because of all the color possiblities you have with it.
One last close up shot to give you a lil better idea of what it is looking like. Sorry for the bad quality pics they were all taken with my cell phone. There will be alot more pics to come very soon.
