So I am on the hunt for some ram sticks and wondering what I should be paying? Also if anyone knows good clocking kits that usually go for cheap?

6Gb MNH-Hyper - price?

6Gb MGH-E Hyper - price?

6Gb BBSE - price?

4Gb Samsung HCFO - price? worth clocking?

4Gb or 6Gb D9GTR - price?

8Gb or 16Gb - Hynix BFR - price?

other DDR3 ICs to track down? Assuming most BBSE and Hyper kit were made for 1366 so thats why 6Gb if they come in 3Gb kits I will take 3Gb just trying to generalize a bit.

I just paid $40/2GB for some Hypers, seem to be the going rate or so. That was including the shipping though, so perhaps slightly cheaper. I think I saw someone sold a set of Hypers (reggie?) on the OCN Marketplace for $75.

If you're patient, you can get stuff for pretty cheap.

Is there any reason you don't have MGH-E Hypers on there? They are often very similar to MNH-E except not quite a fragile and easier to find.

MNH-E/MGH-E - $80-$150 for 6GB, depending on the kit (GTX2 and 2000C7 would be more... usually around $80-120 per stick)

BBSE - $50-$80 for 6GB (2133 8-9-8 4GB kit will probably be near $200)

Just forgot them lol. Hmm any one know any kits that were more common that clock well? Or some better ICs to look at for 1366, 2011, and AM2/3?

Seems Samsung or Hyninx BFR for 1155/2011 correct? Hyper for 1366? And ?? for AM2/3? Also does anyone have any tips/tricks to try and identify ICs on kits that have not been more thoroughly looked at? Thought I read something about timings where @ 1600 or such 7-7-7 is one IC and 7-8-7 is usually a different one or @ 2133+ patterns like 10-12-11 are one and 10-11-11 are another? Lol and final question is about volts what voltage ram for each platform? Lower for 2011 and then whats max for 1366? 1.65V rated? and AM2/3 can handle the 1.8-1.9V kits? Sorry if this seems sloppy and incoherent but I am trying to find answers to all of this to try and start maxing things out.

For 1366, and DDR3 AMD chips, you want Hypers.

Hypers come in the following timings:

1600 6-6-6 / 6-6-5 (Corsair Dominator GT with extended fins / Mushkin Redline)
1866 7-8-7 (Corsair Dominator GT CMG (MGH-E), Corsair Dominator GT TR3 (MNH-E))
2000 7-7-7 / 7-8-7 / 8-8-7 / 8-8-8 (Super Talent Speed / Corsair Dominator GT CMG (MGH-E), TR3 (MNH-E) / Mushkin Blackline / Lots of 2000 8-8-8 kits)
2133 8-8-8 / 9-9-9 (OCZ Low Voltage Kits, G.Skill Perfect Storm)
2250 8-8-8 / 9-9-9 (GTX2 / Kingston Sector 5)

(2133 9-9-9 and 2200 9-9-9 are not always hyper)

For 1155, BBSE, PSC, and Hynix BFR are the sticks you want.

The most common sets of BBSE (that I know) are:

1600 6-7-6 (Mushkin Redline)
2000 9-9-9 (Kingston HyperX , G.Skill Trident, Mushkin Blackline)
2133 8-9-8 (Blue G.Skill RipjawsX)
2200 9-9-9 (Blue G.Skill RipjawsX)

I'm pretty sure that's a PSC kit. They were specifically designed for AMD (hence the 1800 speed). It should work pretty well with SB/IB but for AMD stuff you'll want Hypers.
