which mouse pad for g500?

hello all!

Just got the g500 and I am loving it so far. I do need a new mouse pad for it though.

I was looking into either the razer scarab or the 9hd

The scarab looks great for fps games since it looks like it has an extremely smooth surface so I was leaning towards getting it, however I was reading somewhere that it is better to have a mousepad with a black surface with the g500 because it tracks better (sounds kind of bogus to me but I have only used mousepads with a black surface so I don't know for sure) . I have no idea if this is true or not so I need to opinions from people who use the scarab and a logitech mouse.

I used to have a g500 which I would use on a Steelseries S&S. It's a hard pad and it basically removes the g500 acceleration issues.
I was really happy with! The mouse itself is quite heavy for my taste unfortunately.

The S&S wears off rather quickly though. After a year, I had some "slow" spots on it.
I don't know much about the 9hd but I guess it's similar to the S&S. About the scarab, I don't know anything about it lol. biggrin.gif

The razor mega soma treated me great with my g500. But almost solving acceleration issues are not the same as actually solving them so I switched to a da and cloth pad. In my use the g500 tracks better on white prices of paper than black steel pads but that's just my opinion.
