Out of those get the Samsung 830. If you want Intel, then get the 520 series.

I have had an M4 128GB for a year now. It's great, no problems so far. I heard the Samsung is also good. So either of those two would be good.

However, I would suggest getting 256GB. I thought 128GB would be enough, but I have 20GB left. Installed a few games, programs and then slowly you are running out of space.

I bought mine for 160 euros. That same SSD costs 90 euros now. I have another 256GB in my brother's laptop, which costed me 320 euros 9 months ago. The price is now 190 euros. I am considering selling my M4 128GB, installing the 256GB in my PC and getting a bigger one when the prices drop even further for my borther. So get yourself a higher capacity SSD, you won't regret it.

Is the Samsung really good? Cause they are really cheap here compared to other 128GB Drives.

Also, I've heard that these things only have half the space they say they do, and that when you go over half full they perform really slowly. Is this true?

I'd disagree. Sandforce drive prices have bottomed out (I guess from all the bad press?) which means you can get some absolute steals atm.

Crucial and Samsung are riding that whole "sandforce scare" to the bank because of their track records, but with SF's issues resolved (personally, I've owned 4 SF drives and only ever had problems with one) there are SF drives that are cheaper and arguably faster than both from Sandisk/Kingston/Mushkin etc.

It's not half the space, but you don't get the space that's printed on the box. For instance, the 128GB would be recognized as 119GB in windows. the 256GB would be 230GB (if I recall correctly)

As far as performance goes, my SSD is 85% full and I don't see a performance drop. I haven't run any tests, but it feels very fast.

Oh ok then, so it's a good fast SSD with none of those problems, and is a very good (and I mean a great) price.

I may have to get myself one biggrin.gif

Yep. Samsung 830 is good. It's the best option among the bunch in the first post.

Lol, so true. There are some pretty amazing sales to be had on SandForce drives. I still tend to avoid OCZ on principle (dislike the fact that they have LTT enabled) but the rest are fair game.

The Intel 330 only has 3 year warranty. That's one of the differences between the 330 and 520. On the upside, it appears as if the 330 uses 5,000 P/E cycle NAND same as the 520.
