Hey, I was just thinking about playing games at 1440p compared to 1080p and I was wondering how the FPS would vary when playing games.
I know that 1440p has ~1.5x more pixels than 1080p so the FPS will be lower, but how much lower?
Could I expect the FPS to be linear and be ~1.5x less when playing at 1440p compared to 1080p?
Or would the FPS vary in differing ratios depending on whether the scene is intensive or calm?, e.g. 20% less in a calm part of the game and then 40% less in an intensive part
Or does the FPS vary by a set amount e.g. 20FPS regardless of what is happening in game?
Or is it none of the above?
(this is all on the assumption that settings are constant)
I only ask this question as I'm not sure how well my GPU will fare in some of the more intensive games at HD+ resolution.
Any answers would be appreciated, I'm not very knowledgeable in this area
