Did my psu just hit the crapper >.>

Thread Starter 
So I was moving my PC power and cooling Silencer mk II 650 to my sisters birthday rig after I upgrade to a Mk II 750W. I plug in the 24 and the 4pin for the micro atx board cpu + ram installed. boots for like 1 second then fans shut off and no display. Tried the same with with 2 other motherboard ram cpu combos. Same thing occurs.
When I try the paper clip jumpstart on the power supply, it turns on.

Not sure what to do right now ):.

RMA ? It shouldn't be doing on any system let alone 3 ... I wouldn't bother looking into it ... You'd be out of a system for however long it takes to process the RMA though...

Sounds like a shorting issue, check to make sure you grounded everything.
If possible, pull out everything, isolate them and then test that way.

Well I'd leave her PSU in her new system, she shouldn't have to wait at all on a B-day gift, and you could buy a new PSU while you wait for the RMA to be processed... I don't know how the Customer Service is at PC power and cooling hopefully its fast.

Yea I did that as well. since i didn't want to endure the pain of putting it in the case and retrying multiple times.

thats crazy....ive never known a psu to fail just from being removed from a system. wow...i hope you get your problem sorted out one way or another!
